To help control the unsightly belly flab, besides exercise, there are some easy steps you can follow that will only change a few simple things in your diet. Here are five foods that will make a real difference.
Eggs are one of the highest quality sources of protein, with the healthiest part being the yolk, full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants (such as glutein). Eggs are one of nature’s greatest gifts, but use eggs from free-ranges roaming hens where possible.
Nuts are around 75-90 percent fat in terms of a ratio of fat calories to total calories. Besides having high levels of nutrition such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, nuts are full of healthy fats. Nuts are also a great source of fibre and protein, which assists in the control of blood sugar.
Berries have a healthy dose of fiber, which slows your carbohydrate absorption and digestion rate, besides controlling your blood sugar levels, which helps prevent insulin spikes (which can stimulate fat gain). They are packed with vitamins and minerals and are a powerhouse of nutrition, being one of the top sources of antioxidants.
Generally avocadoes are seen as a ‘fatty food.’ The truth is its all healthy fats. Not only is this fruit full of vitamins, minerals, micro-nutrients and antioxidants, it is super-high in healthy monounsaturated fat. Theyre also a great source of fibre.
Red meat from healthy animals is great eating, despite the bad publicity red meat has been handed across the years. Red meat is a great source of protein, minerals and vitamins. Organic red meat is even healthier, as there are no hidden unwanted additives lurking there.
Many foods are better bypassed in general, in the interests of the tummy flab.
Sharon Graham, a life and wellness coach says “There are two so called health foods that are not health foods at all. One is whole grains, which includes whole grain bread, pasta, muffins and more. The other is processed soy products”.
The extra additives in all processed foods make them a ‘stay away from as much as possible’.
One of the great benefits of living in Vanuatu, a tropical island in the South Pacific, is that all the meat is organic and avocadoes hang from the trees in the hundreds in season. Is it any wonder Vanuatu was named the Happiest Country on Earth?
Vanuatu is a ‘must-visit-destination’, where you will Discover What really Matters.
One of the top self-contained places to stay is with Rick and Wendy at Seachange Lodge in Port Vila. They will introduce you to everything that is tops in Vanuatu, as well as where to get the best organic steak.
