If you are trying to lose belly fat, but you are:

I suggest you try a new approach to losing belly fat, but its not really new at all, it has been around forever. The basis of this method is in understanding how our body-weight is naturally gained and lost, why our bodies store fat and what makes your body burn the fat.

The principle is simple to understand it involves exercise and proper diet. But it isn't easy to implement properly or we all would have a flat stomach. This is where this article, and other guides on this site, come in handy. I will do my best to help you turn your dream of a flat stomach into a reality.

One thing that keeps people from losing belly fat is the unreasonable time frame they set for themselves, usually because some important event is due and they must lose X pounds or Y dress sizes by that date, usually in few weeks if not sooner. That's why I sometimes get questions such as how can I lose 20 pounds in 8 days? Please help!

You must realize that it took you a while to gain the weight and it will take time to lose it, natural weight loss is slow but it is also tends to be long lasting.

Ask any doctor and they will tell you that healthy weight loss is losing no more than 2-4 pounds a week, and that's for obese people, if you are of normal weight you are looking at a more realistic 1 pound a week.

If you are looking to lose fat and not water weight or even muscle (like in some hyped up diet programs), I will show you what I have found to work for me and thousands of people.

In reality, super-fast weight loss such as advertised in the ads and late night infomercials that are trying to sell you magic pills or gadgets is either not possible or unhealthy and temporary, but I don't want to go into it in this article, instead I will show you the way thousands of people, every day, are succeeding in losing belly fat.

Let me remind you that I am not trying to sell you anything and warn you that this method will require some work (as in workouts) and it's likely that you will need to make a few changes in your eating habits (but those are nothing compared to some no carbs, no fat, nothing other than grapefruit diets).

As you can see this method requires you to make a few small changes to your eating habits (you choose how many) and increasing you daily physical activity levels by join a gym, exercising at home, playing sports, dancing... anything really (again it's your choice of what you like doing the most).

I want to end this first page with a short story about a friend of mine that used to believe that if he is not eating what he wants he is not living his life to the fullest.

Well ignoring the fact that there is more to life than just food and besides the fact the healthy food can taste much better than junk food, I didn't argue with him and instead I just gave him a single tip, watch the empty calories in drinks.

He took my advice and found alternatives to the soft drinks and energy drinks he used to drink and he saved almost 500 calories a day and started seeing results from this one tip alone.

500 calories a day is 3500 a week and that equals one pound of body fat, so all things being equal he is now set to lose (or not gain) one pound of fat a week, every week, from a single change.

I was a little surprised (knowing how stubborn he is) when he told me he followed my advice and later a few more of my tips and now he is writing his own blog about how he has now lost more than 30 pounds and how it changed his life.

I hope that you decide to act and implement as many of the tips as you feel comfortable with. It doesn't take much to start losing fat but it still requires some action on your part.
